Tanvi Gandhi (00:00)
I believe we are in this shifting market right now. All over the country, different states are experiencing a different rise in inventory and shifting market rate. So what I am looking forward is actually guiding my clients, honestly, ethically, being upfront about what the market is like, so they have right expectations. And so a lot of knowledge sharing and mindset.
Also, I’m also looking forward to help my investors with investment diversification, showing them different ways. So those are going to be kind of my things that I’m looking forward to in next couple of months.
Q Edmonds (02:10)
Hello everyone. Welcome to the Real Estate Pros podcast.
I am your host, Q Edmonds, and I’m excited to be here today. I’m excited because we get to talk to a guest. She is—she—well, she works with investors. She’s been involved in new construction. I—she got some creative ways to talk about, investing and getting what you need and giving a strategy to how you can gain access to what you need. And so I’m really excited for us to.
Peek through her lens. I’m excited for us to learn and glean from her experience. And so I want to introduce you all to Miss Tanvi Gandhi. Miss Tanvi, how are you doing today, ma’am?
Tanvi Gandhi (02:47)
Hi, I’m doing good. How are you?
Q Edmonds (02:49)
Good, doing good. Glad we’re here. Excited that we get to do this together, and thank you for your time. You’ll hear me say this again. I believe time is our most precious commodity, so thank you for giving us some of your time. And I am a type, I like to dive right in, so I would love for you to tell the people what’s your main focus these days.
If you don’t mind, give us a little origin story, kind of how you got into the space that you’re in, and then tell them where you are in the world. And so Ms. Tanvi, you have the floor, ma’am.
Tanvi Gandhi (03:18)
Yeah, sure. So when I got started in real estate, I would say about 20 years ago, and I did the global real estate at that time, I was working with a company. Our most year target was investors who were abroad in different countries. So I would travel with this company, to encourage investors to invest back in our country in India. That’s how I got started. When I moved to USA,
I always enjoyed working with people. I loved real estate and I loved working with numbers as well. So, I got my license here, and different countries build real estate differently. I learned that. Kind of inspired me. My experience doing global real estate inspired me to do—get my license and work in real estate here, local in Chicago.
Q Edmonds (04:05)
Yeah.
I love it. So what’s your focus on now? Like what are you working on now? Where are you and how are you helping your clientele now?
Tanvi Gandhi (04:12)
Sure. So I definitely—I work with a lot of investors. I work in the luxury marketing space as well. I work with buyers, sellers, first time home buyers, new construction. I also help some senior families, senior couples. So either people are looking to upgrade or downsize, but my main focus is luxury and investors.
Q Edmonds (04:34)
Yeah,
I love it. So moved here from India. You had a real love of real estate and a real love of numbers. And I love how you said real estate is done differently around the world. And so I love that. I guess I knew that, but I never really succinctly thought that how you just said, and so I love that. And so Miss Tanvi, I often say destiny has no wasted moments, right? Meaning we’re learning from
Every portion of our life, every part of business that we’re in, every pivot that we have to make, every transition we have to make. So I would love to know for you throughout your journey in real estate coming from India, what has the journey revealed to you about yourself? Has it made you more disciplined? Has it made you more humble? Has it increased your tenacity? Like what has the journey revealed to Tanvi about Tanvi?
Tanvi Gandhi (06:11)
So the journey has definitely, has taught me more people skills, my tenacity, my passion of helping people, right. And it has definitely increased a lot of my knowledge, how, internationally, how different cultures, how different people think, so and it’s a people driven business, so yeah, but I’ve definitely grown as a person, I would say.
Q Edmonds (06:34)
Yeah, I love it. I love that. I’m so putting things in place, one of my favorite books is this book, Atomic Habits. One of my favorite books. It teaches you—have you—have you read it before? Have you heard of it?
Tanvi Gandhi (06:45)
Yes, of course I’ve heard of it.
Q Edmonds (06:47)
Exactly, right, exactly. Right. So it teaches us about systems, about habits, right? And those are so important in business to have a good system, to have good operations, right? So I would love to know what is maybe one operational thing you’ve put into place, let’s say like the last two years, that has really helped you be successful or really helped you, gain traction within the business.
Tanvi Gandhi (07:11)
So a couple of habits, okay? One is following a calendar, okay? Because if it’s not in your calendar, it doesn’t happen. So following a good calendar really helps you stay organized, right? Also the people you surround yourself with, the books you read, the podcast you listen, kind of really helps you in staying on, where you are or just grow from there,
So a couple of things that I consciously do, right? And then that kind of gives me clarity of what are the things that are not getting done, right? And where the gaps are. And then you see what more better changes you can do to make sure you stay on track. But following a calendar is something that I’ve consistently changed in last two years. And then making conscious decision of surrounding myself with positive people.
Q Edmonds (08:05)
Absolutely. No, yeah, when you say for if it’s not on your calendar, it doesn’t happen. I totally live by that. My wife and I, we had a deadline to get something done. And we had to do it together, had to fill out some paperwork. And so me and my wife, we had a Sunday standing meeting. And so I said, Babe, what we’ll do during one of our Sunday standing meetings, we’ll take care of this together. Well, I didn’t
I didn’t specify for what meeting that this is getting taken care of. So, long story short, we blew past the deadline. And who thought it was. It was mine. Cause she was like, didn’t you put it on your calendar? And I was like, I did, but I didn’t specify what it was. And so, yeah, you’re absolutely right. If it’s not on our calendar, and I think that’s a great operational thing, organization.
Being able to see it, see, on your calendar, see what you’re supposed to be doing, because you’re right, if it’s not on the calendar, oftentimes it does not happen. So I think that’s a great operational thing. Miss Tanvi, what’s next for you? What’s next for you in business? What’s next for you for you with your investors? What’s the next real goal for you?
Tanvi Gandhi (09:09)
So I believe we are in this shifting market right now.
Q Edmonds (09:47)
Love it. Love it. Thank you for sharing. So you want to help investors. So a word that I’m striking out is relationships, right? You obviously have to have relationships with these people in order to build. So talk to me about your philosophy about building healthy business relationships and what are some of the relationships that you lean on that helps you.
Tanvi Gandhi (10:46)
So building relationship is something that’s constant, right? A lot of time it does start with being ethical, being honest, right? Because those are the qualities which everybody speaks, but it’s rare to find, right? So being also loyal, I would say, right? And always keeping client in mind, being a client focused person, right? That kind of helps with building a relationship, and
When somebody feels the genuineness and the genuine care and they feel that, you’re looking out for them, that’s when the relationship kind of gets more stronger.
Q Edmonds (11:21)
Love it. Love it. Miss Tanvi, is there anything, any message that you kind of came in with maybe on your mind that you wanted our viewers to know? I kind of want to open up the floor that if there’s something that you want our viewers to know about you or about your business, I want to make sure we get a land a st a chance to stick that. So is there anything, any message maybe you came in on your mind that you wanted people to know? I kind of wanted you deliver it if there is something.
Tanvi Gandhi (11:45)
Sure. So, one thing I want to say, there are all sorts of people in the world, right? We see them everywhere, One thing that I really, I always operate from growth mindset. I like to surround myself with growth mindset people and positive people. So that’s something I always encourage others to do, right? Keeping things positive, right? So those are a couple of things. Another thing is that,
I’m also really looking forward to help my clients with more details and more information and see what is the best thing that will work for them with all the variety of people that I work with. So I believe those are a couple of things that staying around your growth mindset people, working with investors, showing them investment diversification and filling in those needs.
Okay, solving problems. What is the problem that family’s having? You where do they need my help and how I can best provide the services with all the resources and all the knowledge that I have. So.
Q Edmonds (12:50)

Q Edmonds (13:25)
Absolutely. Well, listen, let me say three things to you. One is definitely a reiteration. Thank you for your time. Again, it’s our most precious commodity. You can be doing anything with your time, but you’re here. So thank you for your time. Secondly, thank you for sharing your story, sharing about who you are, what you do. I believe when we share our stories, when we share who we are, it plants seeds for other people. And those seeds, we never know when they’re going to take root and grow. That can happen at any given time, but the seed is there.
So I thank you for coming, planting some real seeds. And then lastly, thank you for the way you think. Thank you for your mindset and bringing that mindset to this platform. I appreciate you coming on today.
